The PROMINENCE project is committed to your privacy. To this end, this Privacy Policy explains how the PROMINENCE project collects, uses and shares your personal information (as defined below), as well as an explanation of the data rights you may have.
Prior to accessing or using our services, please read this Privacy Policy carefully and make sure you fully understand our practices in relation to your personal information.
Purposes and legal basis for the processing
The 'Promoting Obesity and Metabolic Rehabilitation INclusion in EU Entry-level Physiotherapy Curricula - PROMINENCE' project is a pioneering partnership between five European Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and the Foundation of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy (ERWP) with a focus on physiotherapy education regarding obesity and metabolic disease.
The PROMINENCE website supports the project's objectives by allowing you to:

be regularly informed of the project progress;

subscribe to the PROMINENCE newsletter;

as a physiotherapy student, physiotherapist or health professional, to enroll in the PROMINENCE Open Education Resource (OER) once it is ready;

as a physiotherapy student, physiotherapist or health professional, to participate in the PROMINENCE course, once it is ready, including engaging with course content, taking tests, and obtaining your results and certificates.
To provide you these services, we must collect personal information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. The PROMINENCE project will therefore collect and store achievement and log data volunteered via the OER, and information volunteered via the newsletter subscription contact form. When you contact us directly by the website and subscribe to our newsletter, you may provide us personal information such as email address, name and any other information you include in your communications with us.
With regards to the OER, the data collected will only be used internally by the PROMINENCE consortium in order to make the course operational and accessible to any physiotherapist and other health professional wishing to access the Open Education Resource (OER). By providing personal data, the user will receive the PROMINENCE Badge and certification for fully completing the OER.
Any information provided in this manner, is not made available to any third parties, and is used by the PROMINENCE project solely for the purposes for which it is provided.
Our privacy policy is based on the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. The main legal basis for processing your personal data is that such processing are:

Recipients or categories of recipients of the personal data
Any Personal data collected by the PROMINENCE project is only used internally by the PROMINENCE consortium in order to meet the project's objectives.
Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix processes data about individuals across the world and may transfer your personal information outside of your country. Wix conducts a vetting process that includes an assessment of the privacy laws in those countries to validate they have strong data protection laws. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
Retention periods
Website analytic data is currently stored for the duration of the project. You have the right to request for us to delete any personal data collected by us or to correct and rectify any errors in this data. Obligation to provide personal data
In order to meet the PROMINENCE project's objectives, the PROMINENCE consortium requires your personal data and cannot provide the services without this data. What personal data will be required to be held and processed by the PROMINENCE consortium is made clear in the "Purposes and legal basis for the processing" section.
Privacy Policy updates
The PROMINENCE consortium reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
Right to complaint
If you have any concerns or complaints about the processing of your personal data or the PROMINENCE project's responses to regarding your personal data, or if you would like to access, correct, amend or delete any personal information we have about you, you are invited to contact the PROMINENCE Projects Manager.
